Edge and Corner Protectors

Great protection for tables, chairs, dressers & other furniture with an edge or corner that could get damaged during a move. Place along straight edges or bend to fit corners. Of all the protective measures which you can take to protect your furniture and other valuable fixtures in your home during relocation, the role of edge protectors can never be undermined. They are an inevitable part of any relocation and an important packing accessory which every relocating household would require. If you are an experienced mover, you would have perhaps noticed that the biggest casualties of any relocation are coffee tables, dining tables, chairs, dressers, cabinets, and cots etc which has a frame or an angle which often get scratched, dented or loose during moving. This is where the role of edge protectors becomes important. These can be positioned along all edges or you could turn it around the curves to protect the corners. Edge protectors are usually available in packs of 16. They are tough yet flexible and measure about 12 inches. One of the redeeming features about edge protectors is that they are usually made from 3-ply recycled paper or corrugated cardboard. Some people refer to them as paper pads. Wood or fragile furniture, pictures, mirrors, electronics, speakers, computers etc also have great use with edge protectors. They are long lasting and can be used many times over. This makes it economical to invest in multi-purpose edge protectors during your move. Once you have used edge protectors round corners or placed them along the delicate edges of furniture, they are help in place with Duck tapes or stretch wraps. There are a variety of edge protectors available in the market to suit individual needs:
- Paperboard Edge Protector: These are essentially laminated fiberboards which are usually used to steady loads and enhance stacking abilities during relocation. They are tough and can hold steel and plastic strapping. With a 0.160 gauge thickness the dimension of this type of edge protector is 3”x3”x36”. There is another similar type of edge protector with a dimension of 2”x2”x3” which are used for preventing load shifting during a move.
- Foam Corner Protector: You use this type of edge protector to pack computers, electronic goods, speakers or any item which requires a strong shock barrier. 
- Plastic Edge Protector: Made from molded plastic, these offer tough protection. These edge protectors are also reusable. They have groove channels so that the strapping can be put in the center and there is no slipping. The measurement and dimensions are 1" x 1" x 1 7/8".
- Corrugated Corner Pad: These edge protectors are commonly used for picture frames, mirrors etc. Made from corrugated cardboard they protect these items from scuffs and scratches. They are easy to assemble and can be re-used. These edge protectors can fit frames up to 1 inch thick.
