All of us are used to seeing packing paper in our homes. It exists in nearly every home and always needed whether to wrap a household item, a small box, a parcel or even a book. It is no wonder that packing paper is so important during the process of relocation. There are numerous uses of packing paper, some of which are: protecting fragile items like small glass statuette, curios, tea cups and saucers, etc. The packing paper not only protects the items from dust and dirt, it also lends protective support to many items – whether fragile or not. It is considered an affordable alternative to expensive bubble sheets, etc. When the boxes are packed, it is important not to leave any empty corner or space between the items. Packing paper is stuffed in all the empty nooks and corners to make the packing boxes tight and damage-proof. Packing paper acts as a buffer and the articles are prevented from being shaken or tossed around in the box.
The most frequent use of packing paper in domestic relocation is in wrapping kitchen utensils. Bottles, knives, kitchen accessories, stemware, glass ware, plates, etc are usually wrapped using packing paper. Books and your library items can also be conveniently wrapped with packing paper. Electronic equipment like speakers, CD players and stereos can also be safely packed using packing paper. Packing paper can be used to wrap nearly every item in the household. There are some preventive steps which can be taken to add extra protection especially to your fragile goods. For example, delicate china or crystal ware can be first wrapped with bubble wrap and then finally with packing paper to add that extra cushioning. Sometimes during moving, the paper can tear. To prevent this from happening, it is wise to wrap any item twice over, to prevent any tearing and subsequent damage to your goods. While many people treat old news papers as cheaper alternatives to packing paper, packing clothes or even some pale-colored dishes, etc are not advisable using news paper as the ink stain of the news print can sometimes damage the contents of the packaging. The best way to use news paper as packing paper is to crumple them and use as fillers within the moving boxes. They can offer excellent protection to the goods during transit. The packing paper that is sold through your local store is generally available in bundles and not as individual sheets. Each bundle contains approximately 600 sheets which measure 24” x 36”.
