Bubble and stretch wraps have become two of the most important items in packing and moving. Today we can not think of packing anything with using either of the two if we are thinking of packing like a pro and transporting our goods safely and damage-free. There is a wide range of bubble wraps available in the market today and you could pick up any one depending on your need. There are economical and self-dispensing bubble wrap rolls, large and small bundles of bubble wraps or even anti-static bubble wrap rolls and bags. Stretch wraps can protect your goods from most of the damage-causing elements during relocation like dirty, dust, scuffs and nicks. You could bind many of the household items with stretch wraps like sofas, tables, dressers, cupboards, etc and fasten them during relocation. The stretch wrap protects your goods from any damage, chip, etc. You could even use stretch wrap for storing many of your household furniture. Once a stretch wrap is stretched round an item, it neatly conforms to the shape of the item and snugly protects it during the journey or storage. You could even use stretch wrap to bundle many household items. Since the material sticks to itself with the thin adhesives, it is very easy to remove them while unpacking also.
There are some rules of application though, when you are using bubble wraps for cushioning purposes. You have to make sure that all the sides and corners of the item are properly secured. You also have to make sure that there is at lease two inches of bubble padding between your item and the wall of the moving box. You could also use bubble wrap as buffers to prevent the goods inside the box from shifting during any relocation journey. While there are three standard thicknesses in which bubble wraps are available, you could use them for interleaving and surface protection, cushioning of light or medium-weight items, filling voids, blocking and bracing, etc. Usually smaller bubbles are stronger and larger bubbles offer softer padding. It is important to remember that ordinary brands of bubble pack may not work well for long term storage of any item as air diffuses gradually through the plastic walls of the bubbles and the surface may become flattened. Real bubble wraps are usually available 80 feet per roll which is 12 inches wide. This is considered ideal for wrapping and protecting delicate and fragile items. Bubble Wraps are available in these three standard thicknesses:
- 3/16 inch Bubble wrap: Good for packing and protecting light weight goods.
- 5/16 inch Bubble wrap: They are good for medium weight articles.
- 1/2 inch Bubble wrap: They are good for cushioning light, medium and heavy weight products.
Stretch wraps are usually available in 5” x 1000 feel rolls. You could use this wrap for wrapping every piece of furniture in the house before they are loaded on to the moving vehicle or put away for storage.
